“Chef Supplying Chef’s” In 2002 after spending weekends with family on the south coast of NSW, Jesse Hegg made the decision to leave his full time job as a chef with a catering company in Sydney and make the move 3 hours drive south to live opposite the beach in Narrawallee. Working at local restaurants including Bannisters Point Lodge in Mollymook (now home to Rick Steins’ Restaurant) Jesse found it difficult to obtain the quality produce he had been so accustomed to being readily available in Sydney.
So after several trips back and forth in a panel van full of produce and receiving more regular requests from chef friends in the area to source products for them, a providore business was born. Locale Foods now sources quality products for discerning and respected chefs in what has become an established and highly regarded regional food destination.
